Obviously, Soul Calibur veterans knew what they were doing and were having fun but so was everyone else. I went against casual players, experienced players and even some people who had never played a Soul Calibur game. Every person I went against was eager and pumped up with energy. I played 10 matches of Soul Calibur VI at EGX and each one was a blast. The clashing of swords, the sound of competition So let’s talk about the tale of souls, eternally retold.
I thought I would combine both of my experiences with Soul Calibur VI and write about them. I was also able to learn how the new mechanics work and some of the new moves. I played the game for several hours and got in a lot of matches, most of which I won. The Online Beta, however, was a different experience. I wanted to play other games at the event and it wouldn’t be fair on other people at the event if I hogged the demo. Learning the new moves and mechanics takes time, time I didn’t have at EGX. Secondly, this is a new fighting game and there are new mechanics and characters have new moves. First of all, I haven’t played Soul Calibur in years so, me getting a 50/50 result isn’t bad. Now I know what some may be thinking, “ew what a scrub, he lost five matches”. I took part in ten matches, I won five and lost five. I spent a good amount of time with Soul Calibur VI at EGX.
I’m very lucky to have played the game twice, once at EGX 2018 and the other being the Online Beta. I’ve played Soul Calibur VI and goddamn is it good. It's just a waste.Welcome back to the stage of history Image Source: PlayStation It's very sad for me to say, but I really don't think I can allow myself to put that much time into a game when the online play isn't there. Honestly, Im at a standstill right now on whether I want to keep the game around to earn all the extra gifts, honors, and levels, which I will never be able to use online. Virtua fighter 5 is an older game, yet it still reigns supreme over Soulcalibur for online play. Hardly no lag time at all and smooth consistant play. The online play was like they were right there in the room with me. NOW that was a smooth running game with rematch features. I absolutely LOVED Virtua Fighter 5 online. Its truly wonderful, but the online play, to me, is the heart of the game. I love the finishers, the gameplay, all the extras, customizations, etc. I just can't fathom why programmers would allow this to happen to a game that has so much going for it. Not having the capability to do this with Soulcalibur is not taking away over half the game. WTF!!! I have been an avid Soulcalibur fan for ages now and anyone who loves these type of fighting games, loves to play 2P online. I have read many forums and threads regarding this issue and it seems that the problem still persists. Have not tried hosting my own game yet, but out of what I hear from others, the wait can be unbearable. If im lucky, I get to play someone with 4-5 bars and once the match is over.well, no rematch. 80% of the connections I play on are 3 bars, which produce substantial lagtime and horrible gameplay. Whoever designed the online portion of this game needs to be fired immediately.Ĥ. NO REMATCH- horrible, horrible, horrible. Then when I do, the lag/connection is sooooo poor, that gameplay just becomes frustrating and tiresome.ģ. Custom Match - I only receive someone to play against about 60% of the time.
Should be replaced with a "filter" so that you can choose the connection of people you want to play against.Ģ.
